Seems silly to not use this feature. Many people are missing out on ongoing threads, as well as key updates. Just curious.

Too many clicks to get around for me. I'd rather have everything on a single page

Gerry, floating threads is the feature where the active threads go to the top (i.e. the message list isn't ordered by original post date, but rather most recent post date).

The feature you're thinking of is the tree view thread view (I'm not sure what it's called, but it's activated / deactivated by choosing 'switch view' on the message options bar.

One different forum ProblEm That I havE is with the BBS membeR that reads the individual posts seperately, and then replies to them seperately as well, so that in a single thread, there might be as many as 7 or 8 Concise posts in a row, all by the same person. If they read the forUM in the saMe format as everyone else, then they could make one post with all of that INfo iNStead of clogging it up.. Just my 2 cents that are worth less than the Canadian's...

id prefer active post always returning to the top, how do you enable this feature? Or does the forum have to setup like that ?

Nathan,

Go back to the "Message List" page. At the bottom right of the page there is a spot that says "Turn Floating Threads On." Click it.

I thought everyone would use floating threads (but yes, you can tell the people that don't by their consecutive posts :)

I didn't even know this forum could do it until a month or so ago. I read it in a post on the subject.

Oddly enough, the hidden poster was who I thought of when I read the thread title. :)

James... You never fail to amaze us. :D
