Trying to remember how this beast goes back together. I cannot find a picture clear enough in any of my books.
On the top of the frame, 5 screws on each end (from the outside in) where do the short screws and where do the long screws go? I think I may have the bracket installed wrong.
And on the bottom brackets - are all 8 the longer screws? After all this work I'm a bit worried about hitting the glass.
Thank you

Kevin,
It is CRITICAL that you get the correct screws in the correct locations. If you don't YOU WILL CRACK THE GLASS. This has happened to many people.
Sorry I dont have a difinitive answer but I would assemble without the glass to see how
it goes. Making sure everything is tight and none are sticking through to glass area.

Hi Kevin,
I'm doing the widscreen at the moment too.
The 2 inboard screws that go straight into the reinforcement are short as are the similar ones at he bottom.
The 2nd & 3rd screw from the outside are a little longer as they pass through 3 layers of mental
The one on the very outside of each side (top) diesn't seem to matter much. I'm using the longer.
The 2 side screws at botton are similar to the short ones on top.
It's something like this, (Left to right}

5/8 5/8 5/8 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2 5/8 5/8 5/8
Bottom

Having said this, I've retapped all of my support bracket holes to M5 and using stainless screws were I can
The screw size is 10/32 nf. Might not be a bad idea to clean out the threads. The long screws go in to the side pillars, and the short screws go into the upper and lower frames. On the top of the windshield again the long screws to the outside of each pillar.
Good luck. David
sorry, my formatting of the screw sizes didn't work out properly, they were positioned acress the screen in the correct order.
Moss catalog lists the bottom screws as course thread. Mine don't appear to be. However, general wisdom is to use course thread into aluminum, so I'd check with a bsw screw first, incase the moss stuff is correct.

Thank you all for your help.
I got it sorted out last night - putting in the bottom seal was a bunch of fun.
The PO had the long screws in the bottom bracket and the windshield was cracked.
Should be good for another 20-30 years.
Thank you
