One day the wipers are happily wiping the water off the windshield.
The next day, nada- zippo. Astely' book says there is an inline fuse near the fuse box-on a green pink wire. I found three inline fuses but none on a green pink wire. Anyone have any ideas as to where to look next? Everything else seems to be working, just the wiper motor is on vacation.
Thanks. Oh yea-its a 74.

Does the heater fan work? If yes, then the inline fuse should be ok.
Do you have a test light or meter? If yes, check the green/pink wires to the motor for power when the ignition switch is in the on position. Check the input and output of the wiper switch.
Wiring diagrams are available at http://www.advanceautowire.com click on stock schematics.

Was the motor hot when it quit? Did it act strangely leading up to quitting? The brushes in the motor might be shot. You can replace them You can also get good replacement motor from Chris Roops on this forum. I'm sure he has more of them just taking up space in his garage. He's very reasonable on price. I got one from him last Summer.

Did the motor quit during a downpour? It is possible for the motor to fill up with water. Mine did during Hurricane Frances 2004.

gremlin is hidden in the switch (may need a clean) or the motor (may need a ground) wiper motors are tough...most just take a brush kit and go for ever.

oops. I did not check everything. The heater fan does not work. I turned on the ignition but did not actually start the car.
The wiper motor was not hot and did not act strange when last used.
My test light, I dont have a meter, is with all my B tools, 700 miles south in LA. Story for later post.
I have the diagram for the 73/74 from that site but cant find the greenpink line with a fuse in it near the fuse box. Might It be in the column?
Thanks
Paul
