I got a little wobbly idle on my car. Hopefully I'll tackle it this week. I was planning on checking the following stuff, and wanted to see if there's anything else I should check.

In this order...
-Vac leaks (suspected to be most likely...if I drive for a minute, then stop, wobbles start after a few seconds & rpms might drop 100 or so)
-Compression
-Valve lash
-Ignition (can someone more explain the relationship between timing and fuel mixture perhaps (see below at what I'm getting at))
-Carbs (could mixture cause much of a difference, could it potentially make the engine/tranny wobble that much?)

Just did a head gasket so it's quite possible I've not tuned the car fully yet.

Thanks guys!

Sort of just...shakes.

Tranny mounts are ok, replaced less than a year ago, not even. Engine mounts are OK too.

If the car was running ok (apart from the reason to change the head gasket) then unless you have changed anything else whilst doing it I would discount ignition timing as that shouldn't have changed. I would also, at this stage rule out compression.

I would check the valve lash again and the carbs.

It's dificult to be certain from what you said but it sounds as though it's a bit rich which would also rule out vac leaks.

Just my thoughts.

Weebles wobble but they don't fall down.

I had the same problem on my car and it was a combination of timing and carb setting/adjustment. after fresh rebuild and Jeff dizzy, SU rebuild. I used a Colortune and a Unisyn. Runs fine now.

Its probably a combination of a lot of small things. Disconnect all the hoses and plug all the holes in the carb/intake. If that changes anything, you know you have a vacuum leak.
