If I stay at chris's place, and leave the next morning, I can be in St Louis in a day!! Yahoo says Pendleton to St Looie in 29hrs 3 min!! Even if it takes 29 hrs and 5 min, I should be OK!!! :o)

you are nuts Gary
That would depend on what is on tap. Lately, Red Hook has been cheap. Regardless, if you have to go through Rock Springs, WY, make sure you have fuel before you get there so you don't have to stop.
Okay buddy!! :o
Who said I wasn't?? I thought it was part of the program!! :o0
Hey Bud, You're pushing 'way past the limits. Your worst pavement and traffic will be after you get into Missouri, believe me or just ask Tony. You don't want to tackle that sh!t after driving 24 hours. Shipping a body to BC from mid-Missouri is expensive. Do us a favor and take it easy.
Gary...I've gotta set you straight as a friend...you can't make it from Pendleton to St Louis in 30 hours!
I've driven most every highway in the US & you're getting into some of the toughest....JDW's correct...I-70 from Kansas City to St Louis is under major construction...45mph maybe for about half of it...&, the old sections of concrete highway that haven't been tackled yet are just as bad.....yes, you can fly across the western part of Missouri but you'll crawl the eastern part.
....&, the Rockies? Forget making any decent time across them in a 4-cylinder MG...that stretch east of Boise to Cheyenne on I-84 will slow you down (& tax your tranny!)...Cheyenne to Denver is at best congested the closer you get to Denver (&, those people get in both lanes of the interstate & drive 50mph for fear of getting a ticket!)....Good News: Denver to Topeka will be an easy, fast run though boring once you get into the flatland east of Denver...
....&, I haven't even touched on truck traffic on I-80, I-84, I-70 (probably the heaviest traveled interstates in that part of the US)...&, Kansas City: plan to go through it at an off-hour or the daily traffic will mean hours of idling on the interstate bypass
... figure 2-1/2 to 3 driving days from chris to St Louis...&, figure several hours maintenance after such a long, hard trip....
....&, this from the guy who left Carmel, California on a Friday night at 10pm & arrived in Livingston, Tennessee Sunday night at 6pm...in a Chevrolet Vega GT....at age 20-something....with a broken alternator bracket when I arrived.
Yeah, Gary, you're not going to be any fun at all to meet if you have to sleep all the time in STL. And don't punish your B that much . . . it deserves a fun trip, too!
I was just teasing!!I am planning on staying at chris's place Monday night, leaving first thing Tuesday and getting to St Looie when I get there!! It will probaly be Wednesday night or Thursday A.M.!! Don't forget there are a couple of time zones included too!! And yah, I been thru the Rockies once or twice too Tony!!
Gary: you scared us...we all know you're crazy enough to try it just so you could say you did it & we just hated to see you abuse that beautiful car you've worked so long & hard on....its because we love you, man!
we do?
I have to. He's my bro' . . .
Gary: Don't let them spook you. Made reverse trip from Topeka in 65 in my B. Of course it was new then, but so is yours now. You have OD so it should be piece of cake. On your way back take the cut off at Little America on US 30 throughKemmereer WY and Big bear Lake to enjoy the scenery.
Man!! You love me?? Wow!! I am impressed!!:o)
We are twins!!
I always take secondary roads!! I will give you the total driving time!! whhhhheeeee!!!
and I bet Kim is the good twin
Nope!! I was always the good one!! :o)
Now there's a surprise when you come around a curve and get your first glimpse of the blue of that lake. Takes your breath away. That azure blue combined with the unusually green green of the trees sloping down to meet the water's edge makes you want to just stop and stare.
