As to the caveats before people should be allowed to own an MG: it reminds me of when we adopted our cocker from the animal shelter. They had a two-page questionaire to determine if you were qualified to own a dog. Not to say that MGs are dogs, even though one of mine is named 'Milou'.

Well, not to frighten anyone off, but since I wrote this (Around 1994) I've since had to rebuild the engine after having a piston destroyed by a broken piston ring. As I reached out to swing the tailpiece of the transmission around and lift it over the fender, as it dangled from the hoist, a horrible tearing sound came from my arm as my bicep separated from my forearm. Consequently, it took me three years to complete the rebuild, but here I am, still with my two MGs, and still grinning as I drift around corners! With a scar on my arm to attest to my obsession.... So add "visible scarring" to the list of possible requirements for MG ownership....
