Winter Project

It is now November 2009. I did drive the car back with no heat all the way and it ran well. IT sat for a couple months while I goatherd material and media blasted the 30 years worth of rust and crap off of the bottom of the car. I did not remove all the springs front end etc as I wanted to get some driving in. IT did get a major make over new brakes all around, new shocks on front, heater core and wiring.

The wiring was my fault. A very expensive lesson. Later I added a new distributor and major tune up. So I am into it for about an additional 5K.

Brand New (to Me)

So after 2 years of searching for the car that called out to me I found it in a little town in BC.

It is a 78 with around 91,000 km. I am planning to pick it up and drive it back to Spruce Grove. 808.5 Miles

It looks gorgeous, and the present owner is selling after because he bought it for his girlfriend. There is probably a lesson there somewhere, still has the car at least...

Anyway is saw the reciepts for the new body panels ($3900.00 CAD) and there is only one bruise where somebody dropped the bonnet. So heres hoping there is no major drama.

Any advice on service I can perform besides the normal change the fluids & filters will be appreciated.

Wish me luck.

Cheers Hal
