Remeber that last entry? about spring being near? man, i got that wrong! It isnt snowing anymore... (is just a lil north of here though) but its still damn cold! just enough of a chill to be uncomfortable.

im considering buying a new soft top... man, this choice is nerve wracking... i have no idea who to buy from. i think im gonna use one of the moss dealers...

i still havent gotten that top down day. im very... antsy.

The Calm Before The Spring

Haha. yes. Spring is threatning to start soon. (even though... it snowed today... but still)
Last weekend was... interesting. I rebuilt the brake servo (it can be done! its not... that hard.) And put on a new brake master cylinder. fun stuff. oh boy.

first off, i had no idea how to bench bleed the BMC. and the Haynes repair manual says nothing about any of that, so, i mounted everything, hooked it all up, filled it with fluid... and pumped and bled it to no avail for about an hour. took it all off, posted a Q on here how to bleed the MC and started over. once with the proper line to send the pressure back into the reservoir, all the bubbles disapeared, and once i mounted everything again, i actually had a pedal! whoo hoo. some quick bleeding, and bam. fresh brakes. nice.

now... onto this stupid Igniton wire problem...
i gotta fix all this! ive been slacking off because of the cold, I'd better be ready, cause that first nice top down spring day is comin quick im sure!

i just had a completly trouble-free week, and weekend.

somethings gotta give, its been to long. and i washed it, that never brings good luck!
oh well. what ever it is, ill handle it, i always do.

in the mean time... what a weekend. i did things and hung out with people i dont usually, all with the MG and her top down.

glorous. nice, cool at night, and clear.

this is MG weather.

something fun about watching all the people my age goin around with cheap japanese cars, and suv's.

and in the mean time, i get to drive this awesome machine, for less money then they will ever have to spend. its great. i love it.

i think its time to go driving some more...

Tightening Things Up.

Plenty has happened since last time ive written. i fixed the tach, but while doing that i re-wired the prianha ignition i have, which seemed to help performance.
the car always had a rough time in the high idle, i know, from common sence, it can be a weak spark, weak carb settings, or weak fuel pump.
i eleminated one of thoes 3 possibilitys, put in the crane fireball coil, and holy cow! what a diffrence. for the first time, ever, new or old engine, ive brought the car to the yellow line. its still not right, but its better.
my fater, while i was at work (with another car for this reason) pulled some of the carb apart to find out which jets to order with the rebiuld kit, he also fixed a couple problems here and there, so that helped too. drivability is way up.
i still have a problem with water leakage (how bout that? in an MG? nooooo....) in the front footwells, so ive been siliconing things, and it seems to be helping.
also, ive always had a problem seeing in the footwells at night, if, say, i drop something, etc, so i set up 2 lights in the wells, that come on with the dash lights.
sounds stupid to have constant lighting, but they are set up to be very indirect, and are red, so not to kill night-vision. my father had em on his old freighliners, and it worked out really well.
oh. looks awesome too. haha.
i just hope people think im trying to rice it out. thats the last thing i want, man!

Been Drving. Not Writing.

so, been a while. reading that last entry made me feel crappy, but this is a happier one.
so! its been about 2 weeks since ive been on here. everything is more or less great. it seems that i dont have a cracked head... i think. when it overheated, there was steam coming out of everywhere, i think mabie the seals soaked it up, and it was being pushed out with use... so thats good. my ugly plugs are holding... etc etc.
i still got that stumble, so im gonna rebiuld me webber. thats ok. it needs it. ill be happier knowin its done.
takin it upstate to the cabin on its first long trip since the rebiuld. fun. i hope everything holds together, i need some relaxaition. i really really do.
i keep seeing little glimmers of great power out of it... i gotta fix the carb, and the tach so i can tune her right. i cant wait to hit the throttle, and have it just go. always had a stumble. always. im gonna end that.

whew. this is thereputic sometimes, ya know?
i just kinda wish someone read it... mabbie so it doesnt seem to futile to write....
