Little Stuff, Big Annoyances, And Too Much Time.

arg. its been a frustrating week.
i didnt do 2 things myself on my car. the machine work, and the freeze out plugs. i had the machine shop put em in, cause he had the block, a press, and he said he knew how.
so, this week, i started blowing freeze plugs. on wednesday, i blew the first one. the hard to get to one, in the rear. took all day, but i got it. heck yeah. problem solved. i looked at the old one.i realized he put it in backwards. crap. that prolly means the same for all. but, lets hope it was a one time mistake, i cant check the others, cause he covered em in RTV. so i run it to make sure. everythings ok, it seems. inspect the engine.... oh god. i knew it overheated when it blew the plug, but i wasnt hoping that bad. cracked head, ive got water collecting around the #2 spark plug. arrgh. thursday. goin to work. pop!
the front one. stuck on rte 109 for 3 1/2 hours. one of you shoulda visited me, i was in dunkin doughnuts for the whole morning.
so. towed home. replaced the blown plug, and decided instead of goin to work, ill replace the other two.
the car places around here dont have the right size, and only 2 that are small enough. so i decided to re use one (in the easily replaceable spot) hoping it will hold. go driving, pop. it didnt hold. arg, now things are getting hairy. i go, find a big stupid plug that wont fit, grind it down, pop it in (went like a glove, for once) and... okay.... so far no poped plugs, and its the weekend. im sure its saving itself for when i go to work monday.
the most annoying thing, it i gotta reset the valves because of the overheat... ive got suddenly low oil pressure (dropped below 50 psi at a stop light...) the oil isnt watery (yet) and im suddenly getting a huge stumble, like i gotta give it gas to get it over a ceartan rpm for it to actually go. arg. i want to shoot someone.
i mean, the freeze out plugs, the broke fuel sender... i never want to pay someone else to do something for me again. because they dont give a fuck. ill work my ass off putting it in, spend all the money, and it wont work. well, id better get out there. check timing, and the valves, so i can drive with out a effen stumble. but still with low pressure, a cracked head, no fuel gauge. no tach (that broke randomly too), and intermittent head lights.
3 grand well spent, i guess. ive never seen an engine get overhauled, and work worse then it had been.
