Bear Mountain

It turned out it was the starter. Ordered a new one and the garage put it in for me. Car has been running great since.

Been going to lots of car shows. Mainly Bear Mountain, NY on Wednesday evenings. It's just a 25 min cruise up the Palisade Interstate Parkway from my house. There are about 200-300 cars every week up there. All grass field surrounded by mountains. Can't think of a better way to spend an evening. It really feels like summer up there. I'm so glad I got my MG.

Can't seem to get it started. At least it's stuck in my garage not on the side of a highway or something. Been doing a lot of driving since I got it back from the mechanic. I wire might have gotten shacken loose. Or it could be the starter.

The Midget was in desparate need of a break job and was due for an oil change, and one of it's tires was rebult after a it was pierced by a spoke. It's being serviced at Log Cabin Garage in Cresskill, NJ. I ordered a new master brake cylinder. It should have the car back on the road in few days. I'm thinking about cutting back on my Manhattan driving. It is putting too much wear and tear on the car.

Daily Driver

Unexpectedly, my Midget has become my daily driver! It's been off the road a handful of days this winter. I take it to work in Lower Manhattan even on the coldest days and park her on the street. No one bothers her (except to get a picture, maybe). I have had no problems with this car since October 06! I have been really blessed. I picked a real winner.

Just be carefull. In an earlier post you stated you got your historic plates. I thought about getting for my '72 but since NJMVC says:
"Historic vehicles
General inspections are not required for historic or collector vehicles. To be classified as a "historic vehicle" it must be:
At least 25 years old
Used only for exhibition purposes or manufactured before 1945
Specially registered with a QQ plate displayed on the rear of the vehicle"

It's the "Used only for exhibition purposes" that kept me from getting them. QQ Tags are not meant for daily driving.

Been driving everywhere. Took the car to work in Lower Manhattan last week. Drove around the city after work. Haven't had any problems. Seems pretty reliable. Need to put a coat of wax on. And I need to to get my side mirror replaced. (If fell off when i first got the car home).

Everything Is Running Well.

No compaints. Weather has been great. Just wish i had more time to drive. I like having the top up. Car feels more solid. Still plenty of fresh air. On colder envenings, the midget does tend to want to stall at stop lights. I pull the choke a little and that seems to help.
So happy I got this car. It's been a dream come true!
