Waiting For The Windscreen
Created on 2008-07-14 10:38:30
Well ... the good news is, I found the camera. The bad news is, the windshield gasket still ain't here and probably won't be til Friday ... when you ship stuff FedEx, it arrives as soon as they can get it there, usually several days before they say to expect it. When you ship it UPS, it shows up on the day they say to expect it. Well, they sent it UPS and I was too cheap to pay for fast shipping.

Gradually I'm adding all the trim parts back on, but I still have to connect all the running lights. I've got vector graphics created for various "sponsor" decals, which I will group by vinyl color to have 'em cut. Second road test was a roaring success and the car stayed nice and cool the whole time. Woohoo!

An Bhfuil Eireannaché? 1   Painting is just about finished! After painting it all cream, I decided the color showed its body flaws a little too well. It needed to be busier, so I'm in the process of making i...
Finish Coat! 1   Couldn't hold off. The BGT spent just 8 hours in primer before I was spraying on the top coat. Three pints of cream-colored paint -- it looks good from far away, I'll have to have ...
Goldmember 1   So this morning I got up early and put a full quart of Martin Senour chromate etching/building primer on the old girl. I have to say, it looks pretty good, even the spots on the fe...
Ready For Spray 1   So I pretty much got the bugger ready to go. The bodyshell itself is much less rusty than I thought ... I may have to cut my fiberglas patches out and replace them with patch panel...
A New Idea 1   So I spent much of yesterday taking surface rust off with a powered steel brush and coating it with Rustoleum Rust Reformer, a product that nobody but me seems to have had much suc...
Another Pic 1   Haven't figured out how to put up more than one per entry ...
Taking Stock 1   OK, so I've got the car home now. When I got there Jon had the thing running and he drove it up onto the tow-dolly ramps and I dragged it home 30 miles behind the ol' F250 diesel w...
The Purchase, Or Most Of It Anyway     So I was looking for a thrifty gas-saving commuter that had some Jethro Tull style to it. My Jaguar, a Series III XJ6, gets pretty decent mileage for a four thousand pound car -- 2...
