Dash Air Vent

Gil Dupre Gold Member — Posted on The MG Experience

Today I got my AC hose adaptors for the In Dash vents. The trick was how do you remove the vents. I tried prying out to no avail. Took out glove box to look and feel. Couldnt see anything with mirror or feel anything with nimble fingers. Went back to the front and rotated vent grills and low and behold there one the bottom sides of each vent was a little tab. Put thin putty knife under the vent bottom edge and the put then blade screwdriver unde tabs to tilt outward while prying on the putty knife. they popped out easily then from the bottom. Photos to follow

Moss AC Kit In 74.5

Well I believe I have it cooling as well as can be expected at 1400 rpm low press is about 35 and high is about 175 psi. at 2500 rpm and above low press drops to about 30 and high press goes to about 190. Outside air was 86 deg f.Temp at outlet of center vent is 50 deg f and about 55 to 60 at the other vents. Felt hot air coming in thru the fresh air vents so closed them off but couldnt completely shut off. Will work on that problem.
Only problem is temp gauge goes to about half way between N and H. Ill work on that but it controlabled for now and not toooooo hot.

I finally connected all the wires that I left hanging from last fall while I installed the Moss AC. Today I took it out and checked the cruise control and man will that be nice this weekend. Wish I had hooked it up befor the last trip. AC works good too.

Got the carb fuel leak fixed thanks to Jimmie then found a hose leaking. Got it fixed.
started it up and drove around the block was running rough. Lots of dust needs cleaning up under hood from sanding during paint.

After in paint for 2 months I decided to start it up. I have to take it back for color sand and compound. Battery was dead charged for two days no luck. Put on booster battery and started. Dayum!!! the front carb bowl to body grommets are bad and leaking profusely.
Ill have to fix that before taking back to paint shop. I will try to do it without removing carbs.
