New Carpet

I bought a less expensive carpet from an Ebay vendor and was satisfied with the quality...given the price. Installing the curved wheel well covers was a bear. I ended up cutting a v out of the material to get it to fit. It looks good though. I replaced all of the marker and tail light gaskets, repainted the valve cover, new washer motor, new belts, new plugs and wires, oil change and filter, new rotors and brake pads, and some other minor things.

Eventually, I'll tend to the valves (converting them for unleaded gas). For now, she is ready to take out for the summer.

Oh..I bought a used tonneau cover that needs a zipper. I'll tend to that when I get to Bishop again.

When I can get a quality gasket for the transmission, I'll change the oil out. The first gasket I bought from Vic. Motors was junk.

New Purchase

I'm not sure how much I'll use this journal, but I thought I would start with the basics. I bought a 1979 MGB in good condition after looking for months. I do not plan on a complete restoration, but will hopefully, make it a useable, comfortable and dependable vehicle for commuting to work this spring and summer. I currently ride my motorcycle almost every day in the summer. I plan to take the MG instead. I'll give a rundown of the purchases I've made thus far in my next entry. BTW, I bought the car for 3,400. It has no rust and a nice paint job, although I do not like the color.
