Rear Suspension Completed!

Completed the rear lowering project on Memorial Day weekend.

I ordered a couple of 7-leaf springs on Ebay for 35 bucks. I disassembled both springs and cleaned every leaf (wire brush on grinder works great!) Removed all rust/corrosion and re-primed and painted each leaf and each plastic strip between leaves. I put everything back together with the exception of the second longest leaf.

Re-installed the "new looking" leafs with poly bushes and Moss 1" lowering blocks. Also put the original shock absorber dampers back in. MUCH BETTER RIDE in my opinion. Plus they allow the rear sit lower I've discovered.

Overall, easy job with satisfactory results!!

Very smooth job, took only a couple hours and very little grumbling to get everything to fit nicely.

Next: Continue the lowering rear suspension headache...

Installation success and it sounds wonderful

Stripped interior and removed rubber bumpers.

Though this will no doubt take me years, on my resto list in no particular order:
Replace interior (probably beige) UPDATE: cream
Refurbish steel dash
Needs a new windshield (glass)
Investigate suspension (clean, repair, replace, lower the rear)
Replace rocker panels (repair other minor rust on body)
Remove old wiring, install new (looking at Advance Auto Wire)
Install chrome bumper kit
Wire wheel conversion (new rear axles) UPDATE: nope, decided to keep the sporty Rostyles. Plus, I've decided to put the wire wheels on my MGA
Paint (probably iris blue) UPDATE: now I'm thinking green mallard

Next project...suspension work and wiring.
