The Mark 1 MG Midget in its GAN2 form (disc front brakes and 1098cc engine) is the rarest of all Midgets. Only 9601 were built ! As an example: there were more MG TC's produced. Still their survival rate seems to be very low. Many of these sidescreen models were used as parts donor for a Frogeye (Bugeye) restoration. Almost half of the production went to North America (4577 to be precise). The range started with GAN2/16184 in October 1962 and ended with GAN2/25787 in March 1964. The almost similar Austin Healey Sprite Mk2 (HAN7) was a better sales succes with 11215 made.
