Dash Renovation
Created on 2008-04-01 10:12:28
I located a stripping company in the northern Virginia area that I took the dash to get stripped.
I used the instructions posted on MG Experience to go step by step through removing the gauges and switches, tagging and bagging along the way.
Still, looking at the exposed wires and gauges dangling from the frame is a frightful sight...expecially, knowing I just got everything working before I tore it apart!
The stripping company showed me a sample of the wrinkle finish paint they produce with strong powder coat, so I went with the easy option of letting them do the job.
I should get the dash back just in time for the roof raising technical session with the D.C. Metro MG Club. (crossing fingers and toes)
Some nut...I mean...previous owner gorilla glued the dash pad to the top of the dash instead of getting the correct kit to bolt it on the dash frame.
