The Saga Continues...

So I got it back together, and it burned a quarter tank going 11 miles. I towed it to work to keep me occupied. Obviously the first thing I needed to check was the carb. Sure enough the stupid stick had struck again.

In my disgusted haste (disgusted because the carb rebuild kit had no deceleration valve rebuild kit) to reassemble the deceleration valve, I inadvertantly left the spring out of it. When I finally got the kit in, and carefully rebuilt it, it didn't work properly... Luckily I keep all of the "junk left over" from my rebuilds.

Next step: install new headlights, tailights, and renew all vacuum hoses/fittings...

I rebuilt the carb. Note to self (and anyone who reads this!): Do not disassemble the deceleration bypass valve, they don't come with the rebuild kit.

Still dying. Has to be ignition related. I am now waiting on a Crane xr-700 to replace the old Allison xr700.

It has new plugs gapped to .025 (.25?). It will have new wires and an ignition soon.

The Beginning

Bought this thing running but sat up for over 6 years. First steps were to get the brakes and the clutch working again. The clutch hydraulics were the hardest part. Overall very easy to do.

I plan to do piece by piece eventually restoring the whole thing. My first goal is for it to become my daily driver. The UPS man is not helping me much in that department.

I have started on rebuilding the ZS carb. The engine keeps dying when it gets up to temp. Disassembly revealed a dirty carb.

UPS still is not here.

Something s missing

Something's missing!?!?
