New Digs

November 2006 finds wife and I now living in S. Carolina.
Utilized a tow dolley to pull B here from Iowa behind a 16 foot Penske straight truck and things didn't go so well. Due to my inadvertently overinflating rear tires (I think) one of my brand new tires and inner tube is now shredded ane will need to be replaced.

Also, due to what I thought was simply a small drip leak from the overdrive ultimately caused it to run low on lube and so it failed on first drive after trip of 1,100 miles.
Good news is that Jack up in Blowing Rock is willing to repair it.

In The Beginning

Purchased ($4,600) my B from Mr. James Scholl on the 27th of March in 1992 making it roughly 21 years old at the time. Didn't know much about the vehicle except in ran well and was fun to drive (Did have Type L.H. Overdrive and AM-FM FWIW). Since have identified numerous other previous owners (5?). Odometer showed 65,490 miles but not verifiable if correct. Came with tonneau, good hood, rostyles, OEM AM/FM radio, BRG paint, biscuit seats, all trunk items, and black carpet. At some point I swapped Rostyles for painted wires with two-eared knock-offs. Done correctly, i.e., with correct hubs up front and different rear axle to maintain correct track.
Soon found out oil consumption very high but didn't drive it enough to justify doing anything other than buying Castrol GT-X 20W-50 by the case.

Replaced brake master cylinder in summer of 2000.
Mostly in storage for next five years, however in 2003 did drive one weekend after purchasing new battery.

Spring 2005: Pulled from storage only to find no brakes and plugs severely fouled. Replaced brake linings, wheel cylinders, rear flexible hose, adjusters, and bled system.

July '05: Purchased five new Douglas P175/65R14 XtraTrac tires and six tubes from WalMart and had complete rebuild of front suspension by K&S Wheel Alignment at a total cost of around $1K.

Spring '06: Complete overhaul engine, no-lead head update kit. 0.020 oversize bore, uprated cam in major engine overhaul kit from Brit-Tek. Eurospec dizzy, 40KV coil, platinum spark plugs, new cap, wires. Replaced fuel tank, rear leaf springs, rodded out radiator and new 10 psi cap. Replace choke, accelerator, and speedometer cables, air filters, rebuild seats with new foams, webbings, and vinyl.
