Jambing
Created on 2005-09-25 10:48:58
After many hours of sanding, I started painting the jamb areas today. This is my first attempt at finish painting. I got a little orange peel, and a couple of dust specks, but otherwise it looks pretty good. They told me that this paint would not need a clear coat to look shiny, and now I can see what they meant.

Look great Kevin. What paint, gun and compressor size are you using?
Comment by Kevin Peters on 2005-10-01 07:11:56

The paint is PPG DCC. I am using it on the recommendation of the local auto paint shop. They have given me good advice on just about everything. The compressor is a 5.5 hp, 22 gal unit that I bought at the local home desperate store. Bigger compressors needed 220V, and I didn't want to get into running 220 into the garage. The gun is an ATD-6836. Again, recommended by the paint store. It has been very easy to use. Cleanup is a pain, but that is probably true with any gun. Here is a picture
