Interior Going In.

I thought I would have the interior in by now, but as they say, stuff happens. Anyway Greg is now in the process of getting the interior done. I haven't been able to help much as the old arthritis has kicked up on me.
I would probably just be in the way so I'll let Greg do his thing and try to help when and where I can.
Here are a few pics of the start of putting the new interior in. I'll post more as we progress.

The new interior arrived today. it looks great. I can hardly wait to take it down to Greg's and start putting it in. They were supposed to send me samples of the tops but they didn't so I have to give them a call.
Looks like Wednesday will be when I can take the car to Greg. I'll be helping on the installation so it will go faster. Hopefully it will be in by Friday. I'll be sure to post some pictures.

The Gathering

Went to my first British car show with Baby. It was at The Gathering in Dobson, NC. 400 mile round trip. Baby ran great.
The car show was put on by the local Triumph club and they put on a first rate show. Baby even got third place in her class. I was very happy as there were almost forty MG's in the chrome bumper class.
I look forward to going again next year.

Head Retorqued

Been a while since my last entry so I have some catching up to do. Got the car down to Greg so he could retorque the head.
No problems there. While he had the car he also did a few other things, readjusted the carbs, adjusted the valves and rechecked the timing. Baby runs real good.
He also placed the bumper fillers in the rear and put in new door seals. I still need him to adjust the emergency brake. It doesn't hold good.
I ordered the new interior from PJM of England. It will be here in a few weeks, then I can get the interior back to it's original color.

Working On My Baby

Today was a pretty nice day so I was able to get down to the storage to work on Baby. I have gotten the samples for the interior and will be ordering everything soon. Still a few dollars short in the savings account but should be there in about a month as long as nothing else comes up.
I found out that one of my 6 volt batteries was bad so I went ahead and did a 12 volt conversion. I'd like to keep the car original but I spent over $200 for the batteries when I bought the car and had nothing but trouble with them. I got them from Victoria British so now I have to see if I can get a refund. Wish me luck on that.
I was able to get the fuel tank changed out. I have a new fuel tank sending unit coming, so I'll change that out when it gets here. I also cleaned the carbs and replaced the needle valves. The car started fine and the carbs didn't overflow so hopefully that little problem is fixed.
Ordered a set of fuses and relays from Limey and got them this past week. they look great and I'm looking forward to putting them in. I'll probably order the relay set for the lights and horn also. I'll install them at the same time.
Anyway, the best thing about today was that when I finished with the carbs and gas tank I was able to take Baby out for a little drive. She ran pretty good. Went down by Greg's to see when I could get the head retorqued but he wasn't home. Hopefully next weekend.

Samples For New Interior.

Called Shop in England today to get samples for my interior upgrade. PJM Motors has some pretty good prices and they will be sending me some samples of the carpet and interior trim.
The PO had redone the interior in black with white piping which is nice but I want to go back to the original blue with light blue piping. I also will probably go with navy blue carpet. Want to get a new blue top also.
Total cost of the interior upgrade and top will be over $2K, but the change should be awesome. I'll let you know when the samples arrive.
