Bought A '69 MGB GT

Had the chance to pick up a GT so I went ahead and got it. I don't really have the money to do a restoration so I'm just going to fix it up to nice driver level and then resell. I really want to buy a '67, but I have to build up the savings account before I can do that.
Anyway this car sat in a garage since 1976! Has 67000 miles on it and is in pretty good shape. 100% Complete. Body is decent but the interior needs refreshened and the motor is locked up right now. Interior is not a problem, but we'll have to see how much we will have to do to the engine. I'll post some pics when I get the car down to my friend and resto-man Greg's garage. Greg and I are doing a joint venture on this car.
More to come.

Boot Straps

Asked on the forum about the boot straps which were missing on my car. Found out I could order them from Moss and VB. Thought I had looked before but I didn't see them. Anyway, I ordered them and will now have another project to do when they get here. I'll be sure to post pics.

Finally got the new Filter Cans painted and installed. Asked on the forum for the best paint to use. Went with the rustoleum satin, which is also what my resto-man Greg felt was close to original. They came out pretty good.

Dizzy Cap And Wires

I got my new set of wires so I put them on. Like them much better so this is what I'll go with. These are close to period correct I believe. I have seen the suppressors with Lucas on them, but I don't remember them on my old '65. Close enough I guess.

Painted Washer Bracket

The paint for my washer bracket came in so I went ahead and tried it out. I think this color is much closer to the original. I used an old bracket I had which still had some old original paint on it and this is pretty darn close. What do you think?

Reverse Light For Baby

I have a Lucas reverse light which I am going to put on Baby. The light is a Lucas L494, which is period correct for the car. Not sure yet how I will run the wiring but shouldn't be a problem. I will mount a switch under the dash I think. I'll post pics of the installation when I'm finished. The light will mount under the rear bumper on the driver's side.
