I installed the recored radiator - took about 20 minutes, filled it up and ran the MG for a little today. All ready for some warm weather!

So excited I got the MG radiator back from getting recored today. I will install it Saturday.

Heater Control Valve Replaced

Check off part two of winter projects. I replaced the leaky five year old heater control valve with a new one from Moss today. The radiator is being recored and should be done soon.

I pulled the radiator out of the MGB today. Took less time but made more of a mess with antifreeze than I remember. I took the radiator to a place I had resolder it from the same leak 20 years ago. Jokingly asked if there was a warrantee. I told my dad that I've had the radiator repaired for a tiny leak in the solder at the top tank three times now and he pointed out that's about once every ten years! It will be ready in about a week so I will replace the leaky 5 year old heater control valve while the coolant is out sometime this week.

Had my radiator tanked repainted and also had them install a drain plug also,not sure if yours has a drain or not.Good luck!

No Winter Project Progress

OK so its been pretty mild this winter- ideal to work in the garage. I haven't got to the heater valve replacement yet, nor pulled the radiator to fix the pin hole leak. I hope to before the end of February!
