Have I Created A Monster?

Took my wife out last weekend in the B because she wanted to become refamilarized with the manual transmission. She had a manual in college but has owned cars that have been automatic ever since. She did well (Only 1 missed shift!). The next day she suggested that she come by work with the B and take me for lunch. If I don't watch out I may have competition for seat time in this car.

Couldn't Stay Away Any Longer

Became aware of this site probably 10 years ago. Unfortantely it took 9 to get around to owning a mg again. My first was a 67' B about 25 years ago. At that time it was my only transportation and I really didn't have the mechanical inclination to keep it a good runner on my own and the financial desire to pay someone else. Things have changed (Not the financial end but the mechanical!)and about a 1 1/2 years ago we got this 74'. The approach has been to work on it in the winter and drive it in the summer. So far we've been relatively successful, getting it to run reliably around the end of July after last winter's work. Right now we're really enjoying driving it and mechanically has become relatively reliable. Major work done so far has been to replace gas tank, radiator, get lights working, rebush front end, recover seats, and rebuild and jet the weber carb (plus all the numerous minor things we all attend to with these cars). The picture is of the last major job we had to do before road worthiness which was fix a seeping head gasket. Head was fixed with hardened seats and now we've been good to go for the last couple of months. Next project will be to pull the engine and repaint the engine compartment. Compression in all cylinders after work is between 135- 140.
