We Be Jambin'

Rob Edwards — Posted on The MG Experience

Just sprayed the jambs and slam panel with color. Still having some fisheye problem, even with all new air plumbing (I had oil in the line) and fisheye eliminator in the paint. I was able to bury them under the last heavy coat, but I'm still not happy.....

Replacing A Dogleg

Had a heck of a day. I knew I needed to replace the right dogleg, so I cut away enough to see what's what. I found, not unexpectedly, that the sill was shot. So, I spent the morning making one! Here are some shots of the process...

Why I Like Silicone Brake Fluid

Here's what happens when the DPO lets your C brake booster leak and doesn't do anything about it. One of these shots is looking through an access hole I cut to see what the inside of that cavity looked like. The metal that I cut out was as rusty as what's left, so it had to go anyway....

Cargo Floor

I've made some progress on the cargo floor. Here are some before-and-during shots. I haven't taken any afters yet, but the current status is that the new piece is welded in and the whole thing has been painted with POR-15.

Edit: Here's a photo of the floor installed and PORed. Sorry to keep you in suspense! It looks better in person than in the photo.....

Mgc Progress

There's been minor progress on the MGC GT -- I dragged it up from the shed to the house! The plan is to start working on it (assuming I ever have time away from work again) in preparation for driving it to MG2006. It's an ambition goal. We'll see how it goes....
