I acquired my 1974 MGB roadster in June 2005. It was given (free) to me by my wife's boss who had gotten tired of it sitting in his driveway under a car cover. He originally had plans of fixing it up, but never got around to it. I put it on a trailer and took it home where I put 4 new tires on it and a fresh battery. It would spin over, but would not start. (this was the problem his son was trying to figure out for the last few years) After about 1/2 a day of playing around, I found a small screw that someone had dropped into the distributor. It had the points grounded out, after removing the screw, it fired up and had 75 lbs of oil pressure at idle. At this point, I knew I had something to work with. I've since gotten all the lights, etc working and have driven the car numerous times and haven't run into any problems yet.
