I currently own 6 MGs, a '69 MkII MGB, 2 '65 MG1100s, 2 '59 Magnette MkIIIs and a MG Milano Special (fibreglass body ala Ferrari Monza), all in various states from a pile of parts to going and registered. I have owned my first MG (the burgundy 1100) for well over half my life now.

How To Fibreglass In Winter

Posted on: Sunday July 31, 2011

DSCN6645

With work on the Magnette all but finished I have turned my attention to the Milano (Yippee) Today I was making the fibreglass inner gaurds. However, being winter I need to keep things warm while it cures. The result is an eerie looking engine bay.

My Magnette Is Back On The Road

Maggie 14Jul2011e

After more than 20 years of waiting for some serious TLC my MG Magnette MkIII is now back on the road. It's taken a fair bit of fettling (and scrounging for parts etc). She's no concourse winner as I haven't restored her at all, I've just done what's neccessary to get her going, legal and safe. I must admit at first I thought she was terrible to drive but I very quickly discovered her charms. Needless to say I still understand why the MG1100 was so popular. MGB Head Gasket Repair Update

New Head 2

It Runs!!! Not everything went exactly according to plan but with my superior classic car mechanic-ness I managed to overcome all the obstacles without skinning any knuckles. However, the lovely new head makes the rest of the engine bay look rather yucky. Perhaps I’d better close the bonnet before I get any ideas.
