Graduate student in literary nonfiction program at the University of Oregon Dept. of Journalism and Communications ... older than average (40) -- lots of background in small weekly and daily newspapers. And, with a debilitating addiction to British automobiles that I hope to pass on to my 8-year-old son, Nate, despite the best efforts of my far-more-practical wife, Natalie, who drives a Civic Hybrid! My dad's first car was a Sunbeam-Talbot, and my mom had a Hillman Minx for a while in the mid-70s -- until its single brake cylinder failed while coming up on the Weyerhaeuser logging road in Molalla, Ore.
