This the first MGB I ever owned. I had the desire to purchase one since I was young. My grandmother lived down the street from an import car dealership in the early 70's and I grew up visiting the lot full of British Leyland cars. I also own a Australian Mercury Capri convertible which I restored a few years ago. My 50th Anniversary Harvest Gold MG is my new restoration project.

With the car up on the lift this morning, I had the opportunity to add some pictures that show the progress made on the exterior of the car. With all the bumpers and exterior trim, my MG is beginning to look like a car again after being in many pieces for almost 3 years.

The MGB originally came from the factory with a California Emissions package. It had all of the California necessary equipment such as a smog pump, catalytic converter etc. As part of the engine rebuild and restoration, I removed all of the smog equipment, upgraded the engine to a bigger cam shaft and converted the carb system to a dual SU carb set up. With the MGB up on the lift today, I had the opportunity to take some additional pictures of the under carriage of my MGB. The chassis was refreshed in all new black paint back in January 2012. The pictures highlight some of the work that went into rebuilding the mechanicals after the body and paint restoration. My 1976 B is optioned with a factory installed Overdrive. As part of the restoration process, the overdrive assemble was removed, cleaned, rebuilt and reinstalled. Attached are a few pictures of the freshly installed factory overdrive viewed with the freshly painted under chassis.
