This the first MGB I ever owned. I had the desire to purchase one since I was young. My grandmother lived down the street from an import car dealership in the early 70's and I grew up visiting the lot full of British Leyland cars. I also own a Australian Mercury Capri convertible which I restored a few years ago. My 50th Anniversary Harvest Gold MG is my new restoration project.

The MGB originally came from the factory with a California Emissions package. It had all of the California necessary equipment such as a smog pump, catalytic converter etc. As part of the engine rebuild and restoration, I removed all of the smog equipment, upgraded the engine to a bigger cam shaft and converted the carb system to a dual SU carb set up. I originally was going to replace the exhaust system with a OE type steel exhaust I bought from England. With the upgraded manifold and dua...

With the MGB up on the lift today, I had the opportunity to take some additional pictures of the under carriage of my MGB. The chassis was refreshed in all new black paint back in January 2012. The pictures highlight some of the work that went into rebuilding the mechanicals after the body and paint restoration. The MG has a new stainless steel exhaust system, new rebuilt front end with springs and new rebuilt rear suspension with new leaf springs. Another restoration parts include a new...
