I just finished up my valve cover, timing cover, and engine side plates. I bead blasted them, powder-coated their insides with a satin black (silicone based), powder-coated their outsides with chrome, and then top-coated them with two coats of transparent red powder coat. The picture doesn't do them justice. The result is a deep candy red with a great sparkle from the metallic layer underneath. Carburetors Better Than New!

I now have the carburetors completed and mounted on the intake manifold. With stainless steel hardware (from cotter pins to lock washers) and electroless nickel plated bodies and linkage, they look so much better than they did. I also sanded and then polished the suction chambers (dashpots) to a farily bright, chrome-like finish. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with the PCV valve atop the intake manifold. Technically, I already finished rebuilding the carburetors but I decided not to post pictures on my restoration web page until I assemble them to the intake manifold and heat shield. This way I can post more meaningful before and after pictures (since my 'before' pictures were taken of the carburetors mounted on the intake).
