Ok, I have the disease. We all have it. I blame mine on my father who was in the car business and let me buy a 64 TR4 in 1973 while I was in college. After driving it and a 68 MGC (now that was an adventure), I went without for about 25 years. Each spring the disease flares up and finally in 2003, my wife said, "Go buy a car, you are driving me and the boys crazy." I bought Mugsy (a red 66) and I have had six since then of which three were runners including a RHD GT from England (Ok, their definition of corrosion is different than ours)and finally Molly (see photo). The bottom line is my wife of six years is the most patient woman in the world. Molly is original and some day I will convert Mugsy to RHD as I know where the rust is....

After Cleaning and painting

After a long weekend of cleaning and painting, Molly's front and rear inside fender wells look much better. And with the guidence of Keith Ansell, I have rebuilt and tidied up the entire front end suspension. Getting better little by little.

Here is under the wing

Well, I have decided to take on the big project. while Molly looks great, the paint is not good. A cheap job done quickly. So I have decided to take her off the road for a couple of years. Not Concurs but I want to take her all apart, remove the rust, have some minor welding done, Pint her the accurate Iris Blue, replace the rubber, replace the enterior, rebuild the engine, redo the suspension and hopefully have here ready for MG 2011 in Reno. I will update my journal(a good way to keep m...

Before rt fender is replaced

I was so inspired by the response to my question about rebuilding an original block on Molly I have decided to start a journal. Hey it's better than a notebook. As I said on my home page, the disease started when I bought my first British car, a 1962 TR4 that I bought for $250.00 in 1972. All I will say is that being single, a senior in college, and a party animal was not a good mix for a TR4. Quite frankly, I was lucky to live through it. After 5 months of craziness I traded it for a 196...
