Getting Started

I still have my dad's old 75 MGB, and it's been sitting out for a quite a while. I'm in the middle of planning/budgeting for my wedding, but I'm also trying to budget a plan to revitalize the old car. I know I need new floor pans, probably some extensive engine work, etc. Any recommendations on tweaking the engine to gain as much HP once I've begun work?
