Yesterday evening, I reattached the top at the frame header and installed a new weatherstrip between the header and windshield. Other than a few snaps and studs, the top is back on and looking good. This morning, I got up early and actually washed the car! I was careful with the hose, but I did spray on and around the top. I was very pleased that only a few drops of water got in the interior. My frustration with the Weber 34 DGEC carburetor led me to buy (somewhat on impulse) a Weber 32/3...

I picked up the car the evening of May 15 and was able to spend the latter part of the 17th working on it. My goal was to at least complete the doors, and I achieved that. Probably the most challenging tasks were reattaching the door caps and check straps. Everything looks great, though, and other than some detailing, I have essentially finished my new interior. Our car club is participating in a lawn party at a Catholic church next Sunday--I'm not sure why they're having such an event on ...

I have a scrape on my thumb that starts at the first knuckle and goes nearly to the back of my hand--all from my attempt to install ONE clip on the door-top fuzzy weatherstripping! Pierre, my mechanic, now owns the $20 Moss Motors tool I bought. I took the car to him this morning to let him install the rest of the weatherstripping on the doors and windows. That includes the pieces at the bottom of the windshield. He got the windshield off and sent me a picture, suggesting we install Brooklan...

With my seats in, I've been anxious to drive the Midget a bit, to literally blow off the cobwebs! However, my attempt last Monday to start it and drive it was a flop. The car sputtered, backfired and would not take gas. So, I got new plugs and wires, and today I put them in, siphoned the old gas out of the tank and replaced it with fresh Shell premium, and blew out the fuel filter. The car started right off and ran great, so I circled the block, came back to the house, beeped at my wife and ...
