Re-Assembly Begins

Posted on: Tuesday September 6, 2011

This past weekend we started putting pieces back *on* the GT. After I had bent some replacement brake lines, my son Tim and I installed the rear rain gutter trim, rear quarter windows bottom trim, rubber seals, and the glass and finishers. I did the passenger side, Tim did the driver. Jeremy ended up connecting the gas tank filler tube. Wiring harness and hydraulics are next...

Finished the front suspension rebuild this weekend. All new Energy Suspension bushings, rebuilt shocks from WorldWide, and a lot of scraping, wire brushing, cleaning, and painting. I've put the wheels back on bu not the brakes yet; I'm still rebuilding them - replacing all seals, hoses, and cylinders. I'll be switching to DOT5 brake fluid. I also picked up a GT tailgate down near Phillly last night: it has better glass, better gate arms, and more importantly, it hase the chromed finisher. ...
