OK, so it wasn't really a $98.00 paint job! Here's what I figure it did cost. 2 quarts of PPG, DAR 81499 (pale primrose) paint $128.20 1 pint hardner $36.60 1 gallon reducer $16.60 1 qt 1500 polish $27.00 lots of sandpaper (different grits) $50.00 hours spent stripping, priming sanding, painting January - mid May approx: 360 Ann usually worked on it 6 hours a day, three days a week and I helped on weekends. materials = $258.40 labor = $??.00 All in all, it came out ...

Just a few pics of the (almost) finished "Lady Jane". Still need to rub out a few spots and re-attach the side chrome strips, trunk emblem, etc. Then refurbish the wire wheels and on to the interior (new carpet & seat covers). I'll summarize the project with a materials list, pitfalls we encountered, approximate hours spent and $$ rap-up.

Wet sanding with 800 grit now between coats. Probably need one more coat, then 1200-1500 & polishing compound. Then ........

Finally started painting Lady Jane. Just like in the land of OZ..... "Rub, rub here, Rub, rub there, Whether you're tin or brass That's how we keep you in repair In the Merry Old Land of Oz!" Little bit of wet sanding, another coat or two and then....back on the road.
