Currently working for a national radio broadcaster, married for 29 years with three grown up children. I have been a classic MG enthusiast since 2000 when I bought a 1975 MGB GT (Due to Mid-life crisis according to my wife!)Then the dream was to own an early B Roadster and that dream was fulfilled in 2005. It's only used during the Spring & Summer months with the odd day during the winter in dry salt free conditions. During the winter it's snug in a heated garage. Delightful to drive and easy to maintain. Rust free and Waxoyled. Rarely has the roof on! Although there is a radio fitted (Hidden for security) I rarely have it on as the exhaust note is music to my ears!

Magnificent Motors

Posted on: Wednesday May 11, 2011

First show visit of the year and a run down to Eastbourne, Sussex for the Magnificent Motors Event. Saturday 30th April. Travelled down in convoy with 3 other B's and a superb Lotus Elan. Weather was a bit chilly to start with but warmed up by midday. Managed to get my wife to accompany me. She was well wrapped up with a tartan blanket! Lovely show, around 600 cars on display at Princes Park, just across the road from the sea front. The B performed superbly without a hiccup. The Lotus attracte...

Job Done

Posted on: Saturday March 19, 2011

Saturday morning and a crisp frosty start to the day with cloudless sky. Brakes bled Thursday night, in fact decided to replace all the fluid which is advised every two years. Test drive revealed no problems and a normal braking action. Job Done! Thanks to Chris for his assistance. Taking the B out for a little scamper now. Regards to all

New Master Cylinder Installed

Posted on: Thursday March 17, 2011

Up at the crack of sparrows last Saturday and a swift removal of the old master cylinder. Then off to the MGology Shop to see Dave Vale in Farnborough to pick up the new part. The refit took a bit longer than I'd anticipated but I won't bore you with the details. Let's just say a little brass washer was forgotten and I had to do the job over again! Time was against me so bleeding the brakes had to wait until this evening. Just going into the garage now with MG chum Chris (MGC owner) and the...

Smoke Signals

Posted on: Friday March 11, 2011

Plans are in place to replace the brake master cyclinder as a matter of urgency now. Took the car out last night for a quick scamper to a local pub where I met up with fellow MG'er Chris. Brake pedal started normal then went hard after using the brakes a couple of times. Felt the car was being held back. Arrived at the pub to find both front brakes were smoking very nicely with that burnt brake pad smell wafting across the car park. Once things had cooled down, brakes were as good as gold. Ne...
