New (to Me) 1974.5 MGB GT

Posted on: Monday January 17, 2011

first light of day since 1995

Took official possession of a 1974.5 Rubber Bumper MGB GT on Saturday January 15, 2011. It is Citron in color, has a blue label O/D trans and air conditioning. Everything is there, in pretty decent shape. Very little rust that I've seen except for a small amount at the drivers side front fender bead between the fender and cowl. Posted on: Tuesday November 27, 2007

Had the wire wheels dipped and powdercoated, installed new carpet, new top, new windshield, windshield frame polished, installed Pertronix elec. ignition, have all new poly bushings to put in next. I've been too busy driving it to do any more work.

Posted on: Saturday March 10, 2007

first time in BRG

Well, today, March 10th, I finally was able to get the car painted. It looks better than I imagined that it would. I'm pleased with all the work I put into it so far.. It will need some wet sanding and a good buffing to get the little bit of orange peel gone, but never having painted a car before, I think it turned out good. Now to put it all back together with all new rubber/weatherstripping so I can enjoy it.
