May 25, 2006 While waiting for some decent driving weather, I was able to spend some “Quality Time” with Ruby. Her exterior looked a bit dull and drab and needed some attention. So, I gave her a bath, rubbed her down with Clay Lube, and applied a coat of color wax to fill in some chips and scratches. I then applied a coat of Mother’s Catawba Wax and finished with a coat of Hot Flash UV High Gloss Paint Polish which removed all streaks and swirl marks for a deep, clean flawless finish. ...

May 3, 2006 Pre driving season tasks (and more) completed: I got a little more than I bargained for after replacing the pinched rear brake lines and installing a new E-brake cable. After a test run, I noticed a psychedelic fluid pattern on the inside of the drivers’ side tire. Apparently, the wheel cylinders hadn’t been exposed to any brake fluid for “God knows how long” and it just erupted. One was corroded solid. March 2, 2006 Wow! It’s March already. I’m looking forward to getting Ruby out of hibernation and taking care of some necessary fixes. But first, a couple of winter highlights: I received a very special Christmas/Birthday gift from my Uncle-in-law from California. November 4, 2005 I received Ruby’s British Heritage Trust certificate recently, and Boy! was it pricey - $62.50. Either they raised their rates or I happen to request it at a high exchange rate. But, I may add, it was well worth it. It revealed some interesting facts: Built March 26 -28, 1974, dispatched to the USA on April 19, an early 74 chrome bumper model with chrome overriders.
