Super nice, completely original 1978 MG Midget roadster. This is a ONE-OWNER California-original convertible, bought brand-new in the Bay area in March 1978, and kept by the same owner until now.

The MG has 58K ORIGINAL DOCUMENTED MILES. It had been in dry storage for the last few years.( comparing to most advertised,where most sellers claim " it reads blah, blah miles, but I don't really know", or "who knows", or "well, that's what the odometer says"..; This car has 58K original miles and its condition reflects it).

Original, untapped 1.5L engine. It starts, idles and runs great, as it's expected. It does not smoke, ping or make any weird noises. Very peppy engine and very good 4 spd manual transmission. The clutch does not slip, grab or chatter. The brakes work fine and have no leaks and hold fine. All the lights work: drive lights, signals, brake lights, dash etc. Heater/ defroster and triple windshield wipers work fine. The parking brake works. Even the trunk courtesy light works!



Bodywork is in great condition, with no dents accidents or rust whatsoever. There are three small scratches, that's about it. Excellent chassis, floorboards, quarters, fenders, doors, rocker panels, door sills, engine bay, hood, trunk and trunk floor. Its original Sky blue factory finish still shines after all these years.

Interior is in good condition, with NO rips, tears or splits on the upholstery. Perfect dash. Brand-new, correct battery. I think it has some sort of "cherry-bomb" type muffler, as it is a bit on the loud side, but it can be re-muffled back to stock with no problem.

Overall, a very clean, neat MG roadster in completely original condition. NO repaints ( which ALWAYS hide something), body repairs, body filler or bondo jobs here. NO electrical or mechanical issues. The MG has a CLEAR original California title, and has been kept on current non-operating status thru 2011. There are NO DMV back registration fees whatsoever.
