Registry: 1961 MG MGA

The Car was L/H drive imported from the US not sure when it was done by the previous owner, Absolutely NO rust at all, except the front of the car had a make shift Push bar or Bull bar.
It had at one time a roll cage was removed long ago, though the batt box has a round cylinder bar welded between the two batteries I don't know what it was used for.
The diff is welded locked together with lowered rear springs, and the engine gearbox roughly installed with missing clutch assy and no mounting bolts.
Can anyone explain these mods ?
