How could you convert a triple-red MGB to this colour combo? I lust after a 3X red early B, and it saddens me to see one has been altered.

I didn't. It was changed at least three previous owners back, probably twenty or more years ago. Judging from the stacks of receipts I have, the car was pretty far gone when it was restored. A '68 parts car was used to restore it. I do still have the original red tonneau and short tonneau.
