"Blondie"

Rust bubbles on the fenders started a repair project that became much more.
A year and a half later she has new Tartan Red two stage paint,Prestige leather seat covers with new pads and frame repairs,Moss carpet and panel kits,Robbins tan canvas top,a new wire harness and a Moss supercharger with custom cold air induction. Air filter is K&N mounted forward of the radiator. The steel dash was refinished with wrinkle coat paint- that was fun.... There's a new gear reduction starter to replace a troublesome stock starter. An aluminum flywheel, roll bar,Mallory dual point distributor, spin on oil filter adapter and Ansa exhaust with header were installed previously.
More recent additions are Limey's relays and fuse box, Lucas alternator conversion and Innovate G5/LC-1 AFR meter.
The P.O. cut holes forward of the rear wheel arches so I inserted some fine Alpine speakers to blast some vintage SRV or Little Feat.
Rust damage was minimal perhaps because this is a Southern California car. The floor panels were replaced (with localized rust damage under the dash) and the fenders had the usual corrosion near the bottom ends so they have repair panels welded in. The fender rust burned into the rocker panels(outer sills)so those areas were patched. No rust found inside the sills or chassis. The battery boxes were replaced because a previous owner modified them. The original steel hood was replaced with a used aluminum hood.
The factory hard top was saved with some fiberglass repairs to the inside and some hard to find pricey rubber seals from Canada. Some fresh white paint made it respectable again.
The windscreen frame was disassembled and polished and the ventolator (wind wing) rubber was replaced.
And oh yes, the crack of doom was welded up but the Prince of Darkness still lurks among the electrons.
This car is a lot of fun with power to spare. She turns heads and begs to be driven.
