06/11 Update:

Purchased this car from previous owner last fall. Interior has been replaced as well all scratches, dings, and a fresh coat of original paint color. Capped dash, replaced all window and door seals. Really one of the best MGB's to be found.

Original owner post:

I found this car in Texas this spring. It had been sitting in a garage for six years after its wealthy owner passed away. After purchasing the car, I fixed it up, drove it nearly 2,500 miles home with my fiancee, and enjoyed driving it all this summer. It has since been sold to a new owner who has treated it to new paint and a new interior.

The car is an excellent, well preserved original Texas car with no rust, and no previous rust repairs. It is currently in a "needs nothing" condition, and the car performed flawlessly on the trip home. As you would expect of an MGB that made the trip from Houston to NH under its own power, this is a reliable car that would be perfect for someone who wants to drive their little British car instead of work on it. It is not a car for someone who wants a project that needs work. I have a clear NH Title to the car and a photocopy of the previous Texas title.

The paint is a respray in the original blue. It is not perfect, but it holds a nice shine and looks great. It does have some scratches, marks, and dings, as you would expect to find on a car that sees regular use. The interior is in good shape, too, with only a small tear in the driver's seat back bolster and a crack in the dash. The carpets are original and it still has the original rubber mats on the floor and rubber on the inner sills (MGBs did not come with Carpet on the floors).

Since I bought the car, I have attended to all of the items I generally feel are important areas to address on an MGB, including:

-The dual SU carburetors were rebuilt by Jimmy Hilton, a well known SU rebuilder.
-New spark plugs, distributor cap, distributor rotor, and performed a valve adjustment.
-For safety, I installed new seatbelts. The original belts are included with the car.
-I replaced the heater core, heater valve, and all hoses.
-Four rebuilt lever shocks from Worldwide Auto Parts of Madison
-New Polyurethane Upper trunnion and sway bar bushings.
-The car has a brand new soft top with zip-out rear window from the original manufacturer in the UK (Coventry Hood & Tonneau).
-I installed a new battery behind the passenger's seat and a plastic storage bin behind the driver's seat.
-I installed a set of automotive relays from Bits4Brits for the headlights and horn, plus an extra relay for future use with an electric engine fan. The relays provide much brighter lights, a louder horn, improved electrical function/safety, and are an excellent safety upgrade.
-The car has four new 15" VTO Wheels with new 195 Series Firestone tires.
-New rear springs and bushings.
-New Clutch master/slave, rear wheel cylinders, and all four flex lines (3 brake, 1 clutch).
-A host of smaller things like a washer pump, gaskets for the wiper/body seal, cowl drain, fuel lines, properly cleaned gauge faces, and the like.

I still have the original wheels and the original seatbelts that will go with the car.
