5-1/2 month project installing a 1997 Rover 4 litre in my B.
Complimenting the engine is a BW T5 transmission and a narrowed Chevy S10 rear end.
I worked mainly through D&D Fabrications securing the custom parts for the transition. Mark was an excellent resource for any problems that came up.
Every area of the engine compartment was addressed.
I acquired a complete wiring set up from Advanced Auto Wire, and did most of the re-wiring myself.
I wanted to keep the engine bay as clean as possible so I re-routed the wiring to the front through the right side wheel well. The wiring to the engine, only 5 wires, came through the fire wall to the back of the engine. Once I got all the wiring to the dash I called in an expert to complete it, money well spent.
I rebuilt the brake booster, completely dis-assembling it and had all black components powder coated, as well as the heater box.
I included a stabilizer bar from Clive Wheatley, I was concerned that too much engine movement without it would cause clearance problems.
I chose hugger headers because I prefered the look and I couldn't stomach cutting holes in the fenders. They are a tight fit but I have had no issues with excess heat in the compartment. The drivers side header is very close to the steering shaft and I get a rattle when the engine runs a little rough, but that's it.
One inch lowered coil springs in the front and one inch lowering blocks in the rear compliment the suspension, along with a set of spax tube shocks front and rear. It's a very nice ride.
