Viewing Joel G's 1972 MG MGB GT (YETTOFINDIT)

1972 MG MGB GT 1972 MG MGB GT

First car, 18th present to myself. Sat around in previous owners garage for a fair few years.

Registered in NZ '76, but is '72-ish mutt.

Been taking it out for minor runs, but the vacuum advance doesn't seem to be working properly, and the temp gauge doesn't work, so I haven't driven it very far yet (aside from the original run from where I purchased it).

Aside from that, awesome. Tiny back seat is a good excuse not to take any third wheels when driving the missus about.

HI Joel, I looked at this car when it was for sale. Nice paintwork I must admit. Ended up buying a rubber bumper model closer to home. Hope you got it for a good price, it had been for sale for a while!

Well, I wasn't too impressed when I found out the vacuum advance was broke, and it looks like someone has been playing around with the carbs too. However the bodywork is as you said, impressive, and the engine and gearbox all seem to be in good nick. Looking back I probably would have still bought this one, however knowing what I know now, I would have given it a much better look over!

Always the way! My rubber bumper was my first MGB and I was sold on first impression.....however...after a full carb rebuild (By a recommended expert on the Shore) and some brake and suspension work - its only now the car I wanted to start with!!
