Discovered, unadvertised, through an extraordinary sequence of events. Built up from the bare chassis by the owner, as a useable MGA after feeling a slave to his multiple concourse winning MGA Twin Cam, in which he'd only driven 1,700 miles in 10 years. Unfortunately health issues, especially the development of almost total blindness in the space of two years, forced the owner to hand in his driver's license. This was one of many MG's this man, Brian Barford, had owned, including no less than seventeen MGA's.
Brian, who had lived and breathed these cars for a lifetime, could recognize, through feel, various MG parts that I couldn't identify as I brought them to him.
As we got into this MGA for my test drive, Brian commented: "This will be my last drive in an MGA ever!" It was a terribly sad moment to witness.

You know I still give Brian Barford ( from who I bought my MGA, and who is now totally
blind) a call every few weeks for a chat, just to try to fill in his confined world a little. He
