This is the big list o' rims that are a bolt-on replacement for the MGB.

NOTE: the offsets have not been checked for all wheels on this list! No gaurantee is made the rims listed will not rub!

As a general guideline, for a 6" rim you will need about 25-30mm of positive offset. Thankfully, this means a lot of FWD wheels will fit, as many of those around ET30-40. Higher than that and you will have suspension/steering interference problems, which may require hub spacers and longer studs. See also the article on "MGB Tire Sizes" in the Library.

Also be sure to check that with wide 14" rims you won't foul the tie rod ends.

Has anyone tried the 4 bolt Miata wheels yet?

Simon says: "Skye, Just looking at the list and although the bolt pattern for 88 Dodge Colt is correct, the offset may not be correct, nor is the sizx. We used the wheels off the Dodge Colt on the 69GT, while working on it, and the we had problems with the rims binding on the front calipers and the rear drum handbrake lever. These were 13" x 7" rims.."

MGB OWNERS USING OVERSIZE RIMS…. Recently while driving my 74-1/2 B roadster, I encountered a problem that could have had disastrous consequences. My car has the 14” x 6” Aero 5-Spoke Alloy Wheels from Victoria British (part #9-2265) which were purchased and installed by the previous owner of the car and have been on the car for some time. While making a sharp left turn (U-Turn), I heard a loud clank, followed by a severe grinding noise from the front end. It felt like a brake binding and pretty much stopped the car from moving forward. A cursory visual inspection did not show any apparent damage or cause for the noise. I backed the car a short distance and no noise. The car seemed to drive normally now when moving forward. But there’s always that nagging thought saying “abnormal things in LBCs do NOT fix themselves. Anyway, the car drove normally the in short distance home and was fine the next morning until I turned left again a few blocks from home and the same thing happened. Once agai
