Back to the Forums
In forums where you are required to log in to post a new message, just click on the "Log In" link, then click on "Register Now". After filling out the form and submitting it, you will be sent an email containing an activation link that must be followed before you will be able to log in.
Did you try the password recovery feature on the login page? If that doesn't work, send email to webmaster@autoshrine.com with (1) your Member ID and (2) whatever you want your new password to be. Emails not containing both these things will be ignored.
Click on home page at the top of the page in the login bar. From your Member Profile, click on edit profile and upload a photo from your hard drive. Note that the image will automatically be resized so you don't have to worry about the image size or dimensions.
Make sure you're signed in, then simply go to the bottom of the Topic View and click on "Turn Floating Threads On".
Please note that there are two different view settings that you can control.
The first is the Topic View, which is what you see as when you first enter the forum. You can switch between two modes via the link at the bottom of the screen. Selecting "Switch View" will cause only the topic's Subject to be displayed, one per line. Selecting "Switch View" again will cause each topic to display all of the messages in the thread below it, in hierarchical fashion.
The second setting is the Message View, which is what you see when you click on any message or topic. Selecting "Switch View" will allow you to view the contents of all the messages in the thread at once. Selecting "Switch View" again will display one message a time, with a hierarchical display of all the messages in the thread, which can clarify which messages are being replied to.
You must have "cookies" enabled in order for your web browser to save your display preferences. Flushing your cache ("Temporary Internet Files" in Windows-speak) may clear your cookies, but if cookies are enabled your settings will be remembered for the following session. Your cookie setting will be in Preferences or Internet Options or something like that (don't ask me, because every web browser is different). Some ad-blocking software may also interfere with Phorum saved settings.
Try deleting cookies in your web browser. This often clears up sign in problems, especially in Internet Explorer 6. In IE6 you can delete cookies from Tools menu, Internet Options, General tab, Delete Cookies.

No, but you can use "Phorum Code". Syntax is as follows:
[url]http://phorum.org/[/url]
Creates a URL that is linked (clickable).
[url=http://phorum.org/]Phorum Site[/url]
Links the text 'Phorum Site' to http://phorum.org/.
[email]email@address.com[/email]
Creates a linked (clickable) email address.
[img]http://somesite.org/picture.jpg[/img]
Displays the specified image in your message.
[b]Bold Text[/b]
[u]Underlined Text[/u]
[i]Italicized Text[/i]
Makes the text bold, underlined, or italicized.
[center]Centered Text[/center]
Centers text.
[quote]Does this quote text?[/quote]
This will indent the text inside the tags.
Tags can also be combined:
[url=http://phorum.org/][img]http://phorum.org/newsite/logo.gif[/img][/url]
There are a few ways you can do this.
First, the image must already be on a web site somewhere. It cannot just be on your computer's hard drive. Also, the image must be able to be linked directly (unfortunately many "photo album" sites prevent this). Then use the [img] tag described above. Please make sure the image isn't bigger than around 800 pixels wide, for everyone's sanity. If using an image in your signature, 400 by 200 pixels is probably sufficient.
Some sites that allow image linking are Photobucket and Flickr.
Second, you can start a journal and post your picture there. It will be automatically resized, and then you can post the image address between [img] tags as above.
Third and probably easiest, you can use the Attach feature when posting. The image will automatically be resized to resonable dimensions automatically.
Yes, click on the message and click the "Edit" link. There is a time limit of a few hours from the time the message was created, after that the message can no longer be edited (except by the Forum Administrator).
You're probably using an antisocial web browser (ie Netscape 4, IE 3,4,5) that doesn't support the web standard CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) properly. Upgrade your web browser to something more recent that respects web standards. Firefox is an excellent free web browser for Windows & Mac and renders this website perfectly (it's what I use every day).
Or, maybe you just have a different sense of style!
